Day 114

Saw Jamie off on the 5:55am train this morning... major sadness as she's become my other half here.

After I dropped her down at the train station, I came home and watched the sun rise over Le Chaux from the hostel roof-- it was breathtaking (and surprisingly warm out).

Day 113

Jamie's farewell dinner... had a roast down at Matt and Elizabeth's place as the hostel is very quiet now and it was full of fabulous food and great company.

Day 112

Jack's 21st birthday!! (and a beautiful day at that)
The weather was so amazing, Jack and I went for lunch in the afternoon... snapped this just because everything is starting to turn green :)

Day 111

The view looking toward Calais, France from the ferry across the English Channel.

This is the town of Besancon, France very near to the border of Switzerland (about 2 hours from Lausanne) where we stopped for dinner on the way home.

Day 110

I did a horrible job of taking photos in the UK (this is all I have to show for the trip), but I did do a great job of enjoying some American novelties... like starbucks!! After 5 months of no "venti skinny vanilla lattes" you find yourself really enjoying and craving these guilty pleasures (along with bagels and the english language). Anyway, this coffee got me through a day of shopping in Cirencester (Tom's hometown).

Day 109

Tom and I left for our 72-ish hour road trip to the UK today... after driving through the night (and one minor detour whilst being lost in Neuchatel) we made it to Calais in France to catch our ferry to England.

Day 108

Inside Charlie's bar... still a few people left in town!!

Day 107

We took Jamie out for a drink at the Cantina this afternoon after news of airport closings from the volcanic eruption delayed her trip home...

Day 106

Alex and I had to help Kat move all of her stuff from the boys' house this afternoon... didn't know one person could have this much stuff while travelling!!

We also finished the puzzle today, which was quite intense.

Day 105

Started puzzling tonight... and Kat arrived back from Vancouver!!

Day 104

Walking back from the shop today Jamie and I came across a new friend...

Day 103

Cool ranch doritos = Cool American in Switzerland

We're going on a hike! (Kind of)

Day 102

Last night out with the end of season crew... 15 of us at the bowling lounge in Villars.

L-R: Sophie, Michael, Jason, Todd, Erik, Jack (in front), Me, Natasha, Kid, Tom, Bruno, Jason, and Pedro

Day 101

Had lunch today with Tam, Kristy and Michael and went very American with my choice of a burger and fries it was divine.

Day 100

Got this in the mail today-- preparing for my trip to Aus in June and it looks like I've got some reading to do.

Day 99

Jamie and Lauren night out at the bar! Normally only make it out after a night of work, but tonight I got to dress up like a proper girl. We clean up quite nice :)

Day 98

My food box in the hostel seems to be overflowing with things other than food...

Day 97

fail.

Day 96

Sunshine and warm weather !!

Day 95

The flowers Jamie gave me for my birthday have been adding a wonderful touch of color to my room...

Day 94

Recovery/Easter brunch at the hostel.

Day 93

Happy 24th birthday to me!

A few birthday gifts from Jamie and Tamara...

The girls at Ne-Bar.
L-R Fleur, Ula, Me, Sasha, Jamie

Birthday kisses from two of my favorite cookie boys!

Day 92

fail :(

Day 91

Worked the afternoon at cookie today and got to join Jamie, Tamara and Heidi for lunch when I was finished... Heidi packed up her car to leave the next day and the only way we could all fit on the drive home was to shove Jamie in the trunk!

Day 90

It only took me 3 months but I finally finished this book and man was it worth it!

Day 89

We found this little guy belly up on the deck this afternoon... I thought he was dead but sure enough, Michael fed him a little oatmeal and some water and he was back on his feet in no time (much to our surprise).

Day 88

Georgie and Fleur had a bunch of the girls up to their house tonight for a dinner party... Georgie made both a green and morrocan curry for dinner (accompanied by some delicious cosmos) and Fleur made one of the most divine sticky date pudding's I've ever tasted. We were lucky enough to eat outside with a nighttime view of Lake Geneva behind us... gonna miss these girls. (L-R me, Heidi, Jamie)
